Peninsula Dunecare Group

Inuagural meeting of the three volunteer groups at Umina Beach, including The Peninsula Dunecare Group, the South Street Umina Bushcare Group, and the Umina Community Group with officers from Gosford City Council Bushcare programme and Greater Sydney Local Land Services from the NSW government.

This environmental volunteer work (sometimes called Urban Landcare) occurs mostly on public land: in bushland, wetlands and around waterways managed by local councils or NSW government agencies. Environmental volunteering programs such as Bushcare have steadily grown since their inception and are now an accepted and successful partnership between many government land management organisations and community members.

Peninsula Dunecare is supervised by, and maintains a strong and positive relationship with Gosford City Council Bushcare. TheĀ Peninsula Dunecare group was established in early 2000′s and today has a large positive team of volunteers which has had a significant impact on the Dune’s health on the northern end of Ocean Beach.

Peninsula DunecareĀ meet the third Thursday of each from 9am to Midday and the first Saturday of each month 9.00am to Midday, at the intersection of Barrenjoey Rd and The Esplanade.
